Asphalt Overlays

Because the old asphalt is not removed this is the least expensive way to revive an old asphalt surface. If there are too many areas needing patching or the asphalt is too far gone this may not be the route to go. This method entails paving over the old surface with a layer of new asphalt. This process is quicker to complete and gives you the benefits of a brand new surface without the price tag of a full removal and replacement. Keep in mind that if the original surface contains too much structural damage a full removal and replacement will be the most suitable option.

Basic Requirements for an Asphalt Overlay

  • Surface must be clean of debris for proper bonding of overlay/ may require pressure washing beforehand.
  • Existing surface must be structurally intact and leveled or may require shimming and leveling of low spots.
  • No major/ extensive repairs needed.
